Review: The Particulars

The Particulars is a one-man show that tells the story of how a man’s normally unflappable daily routine is disrupted by lack of sleep as a result of a scratching noise in his apartment. The show is billed as a dark comedy, though I would say it is certainly more dramatic than comedic in nature. The performer gives a very well-acted, methodical performance. Given the repetitive nature of the script and the dim lighting, the energy did lag a bit in parts, usually as another day was about to end. Fortunately, every new morning added new quirky information about the character’s routine and the lighting change alone was helpful in that respect.

I enjoyed the ending. It was an interesting choice and a good payoff to the tension.
