Review: Hondomania

Hondomania features Nile Seguin, a Toronto-based stand-up with some high profile CBC writing credits under his belt. There’s not too much to say about the show. There are no cuts, no fancy lighting, staging or music. He doesn’t dance or sing. There’s no drama or tragedy. What it is, is one straight hour of some solid (gusting up to hilarious) stand-up.

I see a lot of stand-up over the rest of the year so it’s not really what I’d go out of my way to see at the Fringe but the show was there, I was free and, hey, I laughed a lot. It’s a fun show if you’re looking for stand-up but you can see this during the other 50 weeks of the year. There’s so much to offer at this year’s Fringe that, despite the great performance, you’d be missing shows you only get to see during these ten days.

This show gets a: Highly Recommended (it’s still a good show, even if I don’t go to the Fringe for stand-up)
